Whitewater & Swiftwater Rescue Instructor; Expedition Guide

Stef has been guiding on lakes since she was in her mid-teens; she caught the river bug soon after and has since worked as a raft, kayak, and canoe guide/instructor across Canada and in Costa Rica and Nepal. She began teaching whitewater and swiftwater rescue over 10 years ago and loves the deep connection that forms when you trust another person in this type of dynamic environment. Now based in Golden, B.C., Stef also co-owns and operates her own adventure company.

To keep her seasonal lifestyle rolling, she is a full-time ski patroller and avalanche professional at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in the winter, and along with working with Boreal River, she instructs whitewater paddling courses in B.C. and guides expeditions in the far north with Black Feather.

Stef has guided on Magpie expeditions since 2012 when she led trips with young women from the nearby Innu communities. She has been an essential part of these programs, being a role model and sharing her enthusiasm.
