Danny Peled

Director of Boreal River & Curriculum Director for Boreal River Rescue; Whitewater Rescue & Wilderness Medical Instructor; Expedition Guide

Danny has spent over 20 years guiding people down rivers in rafts, kayaks, and canoes throughout Canada, the United States, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Chile. He founded Boreal River in 2008 to help make rivers more accessible and to build a community of people who love the outdoors. He loves rivers and finding ways to help people experience them. He’s also dedicated to providing a high level of training in both skills and risk management for those who work and play outside.

Originally from Montreal (which he claims is ‘home of the best hockey team in the world’), Danny, his wife Letha, and their son Rafa live in the Gatineau River valley. Danny’s sense of humour, high energy, and depth of experience make every program he’s part of a great time for everyone.

Danny’s certifications include:

  • whitewater, swiftwater, and ice rescue instructor
  • wilderness medical instructor with Wilderness Medical Associates International
  • Paddle Canada Moving Water Canoe instructor
